Children are the most important thing to us because they are our future. We’ve placed great emphasis on their experience here. We believe that every child is designed for a deep relationship with Jesus and we desire to help them understand that He has created them to accomplish a great purpose. For that reason we have created safe and age-appropriate environments for babies, preschoolers, and elementary-aged children that will engage them in a relevant way!
Pastor Sam and Sheri Vance
Pastor Sam and Sheri have been married for 23 years and have three children: Bella (and her husband Brady), Gabriella, and Samuel. Sam studied finance at Oral Roberts University and Management Information Systems at Marshall University. He’s spent most of his career in technology and is a partner with a managed service provider. Sheri is a graduate of Marshall University, an educator with a history in the classroom, and presently a continuing education consultant, training teachers in education all over the United States.
Sam and Sheri have been attending Christ Temple since 2003 and initially came because it was a place that had a strong focus in children and families. They also sensed that Pastor Chuck really loved people—that did it for them! Sam and Sheri are almost empty nesters but love spending time with family and traveling. When not working or building their IT business, they love investing in building strong families through the ministry and have a passion for missions.
Sam and Sheri believe that family is God’s design for bringing His purpose on the earth. They aspire to help families cultivate generational blessing and build a legacy of faith through seeing their spouses and children discover and walk out their divine purpose.
Pastor Sam and Sheri desire to see the fruit: salvations, families coming to church together, engaged parents, families that destroy generational curses, families that learn to serve others, and families that disciple at home. They have a deep rooting of the Word in their heart and a life of consistent encounters with Jesus which, in turn, creates a strong desire to partner with others to raise up the next generation with a strong conviction and the power of the Holy Spirit.
